Search Quotes by Name

One of the top, most requested Quotegine features, the Search Quotes by Name integration will allow the busiest Quotegine users to breathe a sigh of relief. This feature will allow you to search within the Name of your proposal (the column listed at far left on the dashboard). When you search, you will also notice that it narrows down results under Drafts, Delivered, Accepted, and Archived as well. Clicking across those buttons will allow you to see results in each of those categories.

Duplicate Existing Quote

Previously in Quotegine, if you wanted to duplicate a proposal that had already been Accepted, you had to Unpublish the proposal, save it to the Library, and make a copy of it from that Library template. Now, duplicate any proposal can be done with the click of a button from the Dashboard. To do so, simply click the Duplicate button. When the lightbox appears, enter the name of your New Proposal, the Company Name, and click the Duplicate Proposal button. It’s that simple!

API – Coming soon!

We are about half way through development of the Quotegine API. Version 1.0 will contain mostly read access, but will allow us to start integrations with a variety of third party services you may use today. We expect to be testing out API by the end of April and will push it live once we believe it is fully functional and stable. For now, you can see an API key

In turn, our customers’ needs are also always changing. We’re working to stay up with your business proposal needs, and we appreciate the constant feedback our users send our way. Our system recently got some updates, and we are working to implement others. Here’s what has gone live thus far:

Our team has updated the core application of Quotegine with JQuery. This is something that was requested by many of our users and we’re pleased to say the update is now live and will bring future improvements for the overall performance of our system.

Another request has been a find and replace feature. This feature is now live in our content editor.

Spell check as you type has also been added to the content editor. Users will notice that the spellcheck button has been removed from our content editor. Now, rather than clicking the button to double check the spelling throughout your proposals, it will automatically detect misspellings. Simply right click the word and correct spelling suggestions will be given.

Are there other updates that you’d like to be added? Submit a request.

We recently received some information from our users that proposals were not saving properly. After some investigation, we have found that when users work on sales proposals while in a Google Chrome browser, a problem occurs with how Quotegine dynamically saves content.

Because of the way Google Chrome handles caching, problems can occur when trying to save work on your sales proposals. Unlike in Internet Explorer or Firefox, users working within Chrome must turn caching on or off. If caching is turned on in Chrome, it is very likely that while using Quotegine, proposals will not be saved and will revert back to old content.

To avoid this problem, Quotegine users are advised to turn caching off within Chrome’s settings. You can do this by following the below instructions.

There is a gear in the bottom right hand corner of the developer tools called settings that allows you to disable the cache.

On the pc you can open that by pressing <kbd>ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>shift</kbd>+<kbd>i</kbd>

or on the mac <kbd>command</kbd>+<kbd>option</kbd>+<kbd>i</kbd>

developer tool shortcuts

In build 15-18 it can be found under Network.

In build >= 19 they moved this setting into General.

There simply is not enough time in the day for everything that we’d like to accomplish. It’s easy to put your project proposals aside and simply conclude that you’ll get to them later. However, when later finally does come around, you realize that you didn’t budget enough time to spend on the project proposal as you may have liked. It’s easy to assume that since you have created countless sales documents that you can create one incredibly quick, but it’s important to consider each client as you create a project proposal for them.

Before determining when you will complete the project proposal and how long it will take you to finish, consider the following:

It’s important to research the company. In addition to any meetings you have done with the potential client, do a quick Google search for them. What is the personality on their website? Are there any key aspects of the company that you should know and talk about within your project proposal?

Understand the individuals you will be working with. Recognizing the personality, goals and standards of the potential client’s company is important. It’s also a good idea to understand each individual that will be working with you on this project. Their input could potentially determine if you get the client or not. Taking a little extra time to adapt the project proposal to those individuals could make a huge difference.

Do you have any competition? It’s okay to ask potential clients if they are getting quotes from other companies within your industry. Sometimes potential clients will even tell you who you are competing against. If they don’t, it’s still important to understand that you’re likely not the only person giving them a quote. Take a little time to research potential competition and briefly explain in your project proposal why your services are more valuable.

Editing may take longer than you think. Proofreading is essential. If your proposal includes several sections, it can be a time-consuming process to read through all of it. Additionally, if you employ a second person to look over the project proposal – that extends the time needed to proofread. Always account for the time it will take to edit. If your potential client finds a simple grammar or spelling error, it could cost you the job.

Make sure you have enough time to do everything. Making a project proposal can be tedious, but it’s an essential part of business. Don’t wait until the last minute. Quotegine can quicken the process with our easy layouts and user-friendly system. Try us free for 14 days!

So you’ve decided to take the plunge and give Quotegine a try. You’ve utilized our videos to learn more about some of our fancy features and whipped up an awesome sales proposal. But wait! Before you send your sales proposal to the potential client, there are some important things you should double check. It’s important to step back for a minute and make sure that the sales proposal is flawless and will impress the potential client.

First and foremost: Double check the spelling of every name used within the sales proposal including your name, the potential client and any company names within the proposal.

Next, read the proposal aloud to yourself. Any good English professor has probably lectured about the importance of reading things to yourself, but how many of us actually do it? Well, now it a great time to start! Reading your sales proposal aloud will help you catch sentences that don’t make sense, hard-to-understand wording, grammatical errors and unorganized sections. Things that may have sounded nice while typing them out don’t always sound right as a reader.

While reading the sales proposal to yourself, be sure to keep an eye out for spelling errors. Remember, spell check isn’t human. It is possible that it missed a thing or two.

Then, double check any links that you provided within your sales proposal. Make sure the links actually lead to the destination you are trying to send your potential client.

Take a gander at any pricing tables you have inserted into the sales proposal. Double and triple check all of the numbers you entered into them. This is a contract you’re sending to potential clients. Misquoting them should never happen.

Also, it’s often a good idea to get a second set of eyes on your sales proposal. Peer editing can catch errors that you may have missed. After we create documents, it’s easy to read them as we intended rather than what is actually typed on the page.

Creating one sales proposal after another can become tiresome and tedious. But with Quotegine, we hope that your experience can be organized and fun.

The holidays are in full gear. As your mind rushes to think of the gift giving, final dinner preparations and getting together with loved ones – you still must find time to concentrate on your company’s quote management. Unfortunately, business doesn’t take much time off for the holidays. And as much as we love our work, quote management can often be a daunting challenge and it’s not exactly something we want to worry about during the festivities.

Quotegine’s quote management makes the process easier than ever. Everything you need to create and send proposals is available right in our system. We worked to create a program that is practical and easy to understand. In business, there never seems to be enough time. Constructing effective proposals can be an extensive process, especially if you are constantly starting them from scratch. At Quotegine, we understand that saving time is imperative to run an effective business, which is why we’ve created a quote management system that includes tons of time-saving features.

Say, for instance, you need to cut and paste loads of information from other sources into your sales proposal. Attempting to do that in a Word document can result in varying text and unorganized sections. Within Quotegine, however, formatting will remain consistent throughout your sales proposal. Additionally, inserting a new section for each topic of discussion makes creation easier and allows your potential client to easily browse the sales proposal.

Another example of our time-saving measures comes with our library feature. Within our quote management system, users can easily create proposals then save the entire proposal to be reused. If you don’t plan to reuse the entire proposal, but have included important information that may be helpful for future projects – you can simply select the section you’d like to add to the library. Our library feature can store entire proposals, sections of proposals, pricing tables and pictures.

Quotegine will remove the stress of proposal creation, save you time and money. Try us free for 14 days!

From all of us at Quotegine, we hope that you have a happy and safe holiday season! And even though business is always busy, let the holidays give you a break and some time with loved ones!

But, neglecting to think of every aspect of your potential project could cost you valuable clients. We’ve talked about it time and time again – when constructing an effective sales proposal, business managers must fully consider the potential clients’ wants and needs. However, this consideration needs to go a step further than the wording and structure of your sales proposal. The way that project managers communicate with clients is a crucial aspect of business.

As you are going through the sales proposal process, you should view potential clients as more than prospective revenue. Clients are people, too. And if you land the project and things are successful, this sales proposal could be the basis for a long-term professional relationship.

Some things to consider:

Clients are just as busy as you are

After sending a sales proposal, it’s easy to get antsy waiting for a reply. Quotegine can make this a bit easier with our analytics feature. This allows you to see how many views your sales proposal has gotten, the number of section clicks, the time the proposal was delivered and more. Even if you’ve seen that your potential client has opened and viewed your sales proposal, give them a bit more time to review it. They may need others to see the proposal as well. And, making decisions can take time. Follow ups are important, but you shouldn’t rush clients into making a decision. They likely have a lot of other things going on.

Their inbox is probably full

As most of us have learned, emails can easily get hidden under the piles of spam that we all get every day. If it’s been a few days since you’ve sent your sales proposal, and you see that no one has viewed it yet – pick up the phone, stop by their office or try other means of communication. Show potential clients that you are more than an email address. Don’t be overbearing, though. When it’s time to follow up with a potential client, always be personable. Telephone and in-person conversations often make bigger impacts than emails.

They appreciate manners

No matter how busy you get, saying please and thank you is a must. Being cordial is essential if you want to work with these people. It’s important to take a break in our busy schedules and really reflect on what matters. Even if you don’t get the potential project, thank them for reading over your sales proposal and considering your company for the job.

They’re scoping out your competition

There’s no reason to hide the facts. Anyone looking to spend a decent sum of money will get second and third opinions. It’s very unlikely that you are the only company the client is talking to. Feel free to address this with your potential client. Explain to them how you can better complete the project, give them insight on successes you have that others may lack and express that you are committed to the success of their project.

Win or lose your next sales proposal – professional connections can add value to your organization. And the way you treat people will greatly reflect the work that your company does. Try Quotegine to create a seamless sales proposal and nab your next business deal.

In addition to some of the questions your client may have asked you, here are some other things your project proposal should include:

What is the timeline of the project?

What previous projects can contribute to the success of this one?

What makes you qualified to complete this project?

If there are alternative possibilities for this project, why did you select this specific method to complete the project?

What are some complications that should arise and how will you deter them?

Is there anything that your potential client needs to complete at this time?

Why is your company a better choice than competitors?
